README.TXT ******************************************************* Regarding newer BSP versions: * Use only the field for 'paid cash' (F8) (The other fields are not included in the weekly report in the current version) The menu for 'Adjust remaining' have been moved to 'Course & visit'. (One can now change the numbers directly as one prefers.) From version 3.493 and newer you can create an additional restorable backup file to the hard disk through the menu Register + Other functions + Backup. From version 3.86 there is menu option for allowing slower laptops to run simulators through USB2serial port adapters. (See www.bailine.com/faq + WINDOWS for more information on this) See below for changes in older versions, and information on how to install a new version. ******************************************************* Decription of directories: BACKUP: Easy to use backup program (a PKZIP script) for backing up the client register to old floppy disks. You do not need this program if you are backing up to a newer media like USB sticks. BSP-FIX: Program for repairing certain errors that can occur with the Bailine dongle. You should not use this program without checking with Bailine HQ. BSP-SIM: Program for updating (patching) the SIM-16 and FIG-16 simulators. You should not use this program without checking with Bailine HQ. Windows: Windows drivers for the BSP program, as well as Windows drivers for the PCI card and USB2Serial port adapters. These files may be easier to use than the ones on included CDs. The ISA card does not need drivers. You do not need any of these drivers if the program is to be run under DOS only, but in that case you need to make sure Plug-n-Play is enabled in the computers BIOS. BETA: There are no difference between BETA and other programs except BETA is used to denote that the program contains new code that has not been tested over time. The date shows how long since the program was updated. How to find out what has been changed or added is explained at the end of this file. DEMO: A DEMO program is a program used to test critically new code. Always read the README.TXT (or the LESMEG.TXT) file in the same directory as the DEMO program before installing a DEMO programs. We recommend you always have a copy of the previous BSP version available when installing a new version. If there is a problem with a new version you can then revert back to the previous version. ******************************************************* How to install the program: A BSP installation disk for version 3.41 or later should contain the following files: INSTALL.BAT BAILINE.BAT BAILINE.EXE BAILINE.RES Some versions do not contain the RES-file. You can download these files from www.bailine.com/faq + download Click on the directory with the highest version number for the language version you want to install. Download ALL files in the directory to a memory stick (or on older systems to a floppy disk). To install the program copy the above files to a folder c:\bailine, and bailine.bat to c:\ If you are installing from a floppy disk you can type a:\install [Enter] to install the program If you are using a memory stick you can just copy the files. ******************************************************* Version changes: BSP 3.93 * Test function for chromatic frequency program New menu 'FPB: Chrom-test'. BSP 3.315 BETA This is a beta version, use with caution. The new filter functons in this version was primarily added in order to prepare for other functions in later *DOS* versions of the BSP. The upcoming windows version of the BSP program will however use a totally different database design. * filter functions has been implemented, eg. for printing out labels Menu: Register + Clients + Other functions 10 'default' filters has been added. In order to remove the result of a filter, choose the filter 'all clients', or use one of the functions for sorting the register, ie. 'Register + 'All clients' * The default filters can be changed Use the shortcut 'E-Edit' to examine the filter, and to override it. Use the filter 'Previous' to edit a previously overriden filter, this saves you from defining the filter from scratch. * Printing labels function: Other functions + Print labels The format of the labels can defined using the same menu, and can be tested by selecting the menu 'print labels', then 'print one page' (at a time) (Labels can also be defined through the menu: Bailine + Program Setup etc.) The labels are printed in the same order as the current ordering of the clients in the register * Other changes in the client register 'Open/Save client' works as before, but open clients are indicated in a new way on the screen 'Mark (on/off) is from now on used to adjust the results of a filter, and to manually select clients to be included or excluded from a filter A simple 'go to' function has been added. Deleting clients (and remaining payments) can now be done based on the current selected filter. Some other functions for selecting clients based on whether clients has been manually marked or not has also been added. Most 'sub functions' under the client register can now be selected through short cuts as shown in the menus, eg. 'F' open the 'Filter' functions Other minor changes. BSP 3.314 BETA Bug-fix: 'Previous visits' never showed more than 29 bisits, eg. it was impossible to edit the analysis for client with more than 29 visits. BSP 3.291 BETA Fixed a bug that affected the timing of an electrobics effect in 3.29 beta (accelerating fpb) BSP 3.29 BETA This version has been released for test use only. Program has been made windows-aware, for the first time some 3rd party code has been incorporated in order to prepare for the transition to windows. multiple instances should from now on be blocked in ALL windows versions, this should make the program safe to run under windows, UNLESS the program uses a PCI PnP Card to run the simulators. (Added DOS only support for 8PORT PCI PnP Cards, no non-scandinavian shops uses the PCI PnP Card) Added simulator groupwise intialization option BSP 3.23 A new menu for saving a week report to a floppy (Register: Week report: Other functions: Save to disk) The week report now uses a dos + windows character set BSP 3.22 Bug fix affecting calculation on client’s input in inches and pound ISO numbering of language versions BSP 3.21 The following has been changed from BSP 3.08: * Bug fix: No extra pages when printing on US letter format * Bug fix: Birth date didn't input properly in the US version * A couple of new simulator programs: Program#146: Electrobics Intensive (1) Program#145: Electrobics Intensive (2) These programs are variations on the 'fat burner' program. * Menu: Bailine + Program Set up + Special + Initialization It is now possible to override the number of seconds used to initialize a channel when starting a simulator program with 'long initialization'. Due to historical reasons the older simulator programs spends up to 45 seconds in 'initialization mode' on each channel while newer programs usual spends only 20 seconds, by using this function all programs (except the demonstrational programs) will spend the same amount of time on 'initialization' * Menu: Bailine + Program Set up + Simulator + Mark/Select + Inverted Not very useful but inverts the channels outputs on the selected simulator, channel 1, 2, 3 etc becomes channel 16, 15, 14 etc. (Useful for those few shops that have mounted a simulator upside down because of difficult cubicles). Besides this there's some minor bug fixes, plus minor modifications like making some internal simulator functions symmetrical, hopefully resulting in some phases in various simulator programs becoming slightly more comfortable. *******************************************************
